YEKATERINBURG, June 16 - The leaders of Brazil, Russia, India, and China known as the BRIC countries will hold the their fist summit meeting Tuesday in the Russian city of Yekaterinburg.
The four nations are key emerging economies in the world and account for 42 percent of the worlds population. The BRIC nations have combined reserves of $2.8 trillion and are among the biggest holders of U.S. Treasuries.
The United States asked to be included in the summit but where not invited to attend.
The leaders will be discussing how to deal with their U.S. Treasury holdings as well as an alternative to the US Dollar as the worlds reserve currency.
